About Greg Mahr MD

Greg Mahr MD is a psychiatrist, a teacher and a writer. He is director of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and is on faculty at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Dream work and Jungian depth psychology have been long standing passions for Greg, and he has helped run a dream groups for almost 10 years. Greg is a skilled writer and has published flash fiction and poetry in a variety of medical and literary journals.

About Chris Drake, PhD

Christopher Drake is a clinical psychologist and sleep researcher. He authored over 200 scientific publications and is a section editor for The Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine. He has received research grants from the National Institutes of Health and is a former Chairman of the National Sleep Foundation.

Chris Drake PhD is the Director of the Tom Roth Sleep Research Institute at Henry Ford Hospital. He has published over 200 clinical papers and has received multiple research grants from the National Institutes of Health for his work on sleep. He is the former Chairman of the National Sleep Foundation and is a section editor for The Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine, the standard textbook used in training programs for physicians specializing in sleep medicine.

Book summary

Our book, Wisdom of Dreams, offers insights for both clinician working with dreams and for anyone interested in understanding their own dreams. Clinicians have special issues about how to use dreams in therapy. Dream work is a powerful clinical tool that needs to be used thoughtfully in therapy.

Beyond their use in therapy,  dreams bring important messages to all of us. Understanding the wisdom of dreams can help all of us grow, change and heal.
